City of Las Vegas

I travelled in November on a direct flight from London to Las Vegas. We were ready to explore the fabulous city of Las Vegas in the Nevada's Mojave Desert. This is a resort city famed for its vibrant nightlife, centred around 24 - hour casinos and every other entertainment option. Its main street and focal point is the strip which is just over four miles long.

We stayed in a few hotels and visited a lot more as we wanted to see everything as every hotel is so different in Las Vegas. The boulevard is home to themed hotels with elaborate displays such as fountains synchronized to music as well as replicas of an Egyptian pyramid, The Venetian Grand Canal, and the Eiffel Tower. The hotels cater for every taste and when you are in them you could be in Paris or Venice, each offering something truly unique.

At night we were able to experience some of the show stopping shows which are on in Las Vegas. The city attracts the biggest stars from around the world. I could not believe how fabulous they were and again they cater for every taste from the Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas to singers such as Celine Dion to many other stars.

The highlight for me was the visit to the Grand Canyon by helicopter. This was so extraordinary from the moment we took off to see one of the 7th wonders of the world.

it travelled over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and the Colorado River before landing 4000 feet on the bottom to have a Champagne picnic. The trip was so amazing to see the desert up close was the highlight of my trip.

Another highlight was the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas. This is about a ten-minute drive from the strip and is well worth a visit especially in the evening. They have the amazing Zip lining along the main street but is was the people who lined the street and the light display on every night that amazed me. It is well worth a visit.

Another highlight was the Machine Guns Vegas. I was apprehensive before trying this, but it was an experience of a lifetime to be shown how to shoot a gun. This has become very popular with tourists to Las Vegas. The company we experienced this with were very experienced and they even perform weddings at the shooting range!

The shopping was also amazing. We went to both outlet centres North and South which both offer discount vouchers with the already designer discounts which were amazing. The hotels also have shopping in them, but I found the outlet centres to be more reasonable. The shopping on the strip was excellent also. It felt like shopping in New York. Las Vegas was on my wish list and it lived up to all my expectations. It is exactly how I imagined it even better.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like me to plan your dream trip of a lifetime.
