Experience the Royal Splendours of India – a kaleidoscopic country that continues to amaze and inspire visitors. From Mumbai to Delhi see the combinations of busy cities change to remote areas as you experience a once in a lifetime adventure. Flying with Etihad, discover that there are few more intriguing places to travel than mad, majestic India.

Arrive in Mumbai, a thriving metropolis that is a go-to destination for travellers curious to experience a modern Indian city. Lapped by the Arabian Sea, this urban seaside peninsula is a melting pot of old and new India. Visit the Gateway of India, the first structure to welcome visitors entering the city by sea. This monument is a blend of both Hindu and Muslim architectural styles and an iconic symbol of the city.

After you’ve seen the bustling city of Mumbai, it’s time to start exploring Aurangabad. First your guided tour will take you to see the Ellora Caves, featuring ancient monuments and temples devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. This site illustrates the spirt of tolerance that is a characteristic of ancient India. Then see the Bibi Ka Maqbara or as it’s known the “mini Taj”. Similar to the original this is a monument built in memory of love lost.

Travelling on the Udaipur, this city is dubbed the ‘Venice of the East’ and is built around three interconnected lakes, the Lake Pichhola, Fateh Sagar Lake and the smaller Swaroop Sagar Lake and is encircled by the hills of the Aravalli mountain range. Soak up the picturesque views and enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola.

Your final destination is India’s largest city, Delhi. One of the country’s commercial and economic hubs for centuries, Delhi is incredibly rich in culture and history. Made up of the ancient walled city of Old Delhi and the more modern sector, New Delhi, the city encompasses a staggering array of beautiful architecture, notable monuments and age-old temples, including three UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the Red Fort, Qutab Minar and Humayun's Tomb.

Finish your Royal Splendour tour of India by seeing it’s most iconic architectural masterpiece, the Taj Mahal. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the seven Wonders of the World – by combining Islamic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish and Indian design elements, it’s an awe-inspiring structure of elegant domes and white marble, which changes colour along with the light – pink at sunrise, pearly white in the afternoon and silver-gold in the full moon.
