Central & South America
Hi and thanks for visiting my Travel Counsellors page!
I have travelled all my life (my first birthday was in Mumbai!), so I am delighted to be able to bring Travel Counsellors to Ashbourne, Co Meath. I have lived here for the last 16 years with my wife and two children, who attend local schools.
Before becoming a Travel Counsellor in 2019 I worked for 18 years in a large, city centre travel agency. I have always been fascinated by travel and going places I have never been before, be it the White House in Washington DC or the Great Barrier Reef. I have been fortunate enough to take a safari in South Africa, drive an RV through the Black Hills of South Dakota, walk through the Daintree rainforest with a traditional owner, scuba dive in the Mediterranean and have seen sunrise over Mt Everest. I have stayed in 5*+ hotels and trailer parks, on a houseboat in Kashmir and a luxury train in the African veldt. I must confess that I’m torn as to my favourite city – either Cape Town or Sydney. Sydney has the harbour and it’s where I grew up, but it’s hard to think of a more spectacular backdrop than Table Mountain!
I love booking holidays for my clients – I love the excitement as they see what they are going to see and do when they are away. I am available 7 days a week to help you create your perfect luxury holiday.
Being a part of the award-winning Travel Counsellors team means that I have access to competitive rates on airfares and hotels all over the world. Being fully bonded and regulated by the Commission for Aviation Regulation means that you have complete peace of mind.
Whether your next trip is a family holiday, your honeymoon or ticking items off the bucket list, call me on 086 153 5978 to help you book it.
Please send me your holiday or travel requirements and I will do my best to help you.

When I was a boy, I remember my grandfather telling me about his adventures and when he was in Nepal and he saw the sun rise over Mount Everest. At the age of 10 or 11 that had a huge impact on me as the most exotic adventure I could possibly conceive. Fast forward a dozen years or so and I found myself in Kathmandu at something of a loose end (as one does…) I knew that Mount Everest was in Nepal, but it was more than 100km away. After chatting with some locals, I learned it was possible to go...

‘I’m sorry to say the train will be delayed by about 6 hours, so we could be here all night’ said the Rovos Rail train director. ‘We have the lowest priority on the track, so we’ll be in this siding for quite a while,’ he finished. The siding in question was in the middle of the vastness of the South African Karoo - the only artificial light we could see came from the train itself. The waiter was refilling my glass with an excellent pinotage as I struggled to find a downside to this announcement. My fellow...

‘The most perfect harbour in all the world,’ wrote Captain Arthur Phillip, the first Governor of NSW about Sydney harbour. He was a sailor, so he knew about such things; I grew up in Sydney and I think he was right on the money. My birthday is in January, in the middle of the Southern Hemisphere summer and I spent many happy birthdays in boats going about the harbour and having barbeques on the harbour islands. All around the harbour are the houses of the very well-heeled with views of the harbour - most are worth well over A$1,000,000! The...

‘Ohhh, sweetie, you’re going to freeze!’ said the lady at the airport to my 15-year-old daughter - she was wearing her GAA jersey and shorts. As it was 20 degrees Celsius at 9 am I wasn’t too concerned, but I did smile at what constitutes a cold day in Far North Queensland! That was the start of our family holiday in Port Douglas, a part of the world I had never visited before. Almost immediately we fell in love with this town. Port Douglas is about an hour north of Cairns, situated on 4 Mile beach, the town...

You don’t get much for €0.50 these days, but if you are in Hong Kong it’ll buy you a first-class ticket across the harbour. Hong Kong has one of the finest natural harbours in the world, and one of the busiest. The 10-minute Star Ferry ride across the harbour is always something I enjoy whenever I’m in the city. Set against the spectacular backdrop Victoria Peak are the skyscrapers on Hong Kong Island on one side of the harbour and the markets and alleys of Tsim Sha Tsui on the other. All day the sea traffic...

I’d never driven a 30-foot RV before, it was years since I had driven on the right hand side of the road and I’d never been to Colorado before, so it made perfect sense for me to book my wife and two kids and my parents-in-law on a campervan holiday in that part of the world. I had the very good idea to get an hour’s instruction driving a lorry, reversing and low-speed manoeuvring, then we packed our bags and away we went. We arrived into the mile-high city of Denver, right on the edge of the prairie, at the...
