I originally started in travel in 1973 and worked for a number of years in a leading agency in Carlow. Following a break when my children were young I returned to the industry in 1997 and I have been working in Wexford since 2000. I live close to Wexford town and work from home, which gives me the flexibility to meet clients at a time to suit their busy schedules, including evenings and weekends.
I love my job and providing good personal service has always been my aim. I like to take my time with clients to ensure they get the holiday that suits them. I have recently researched and booked holidays for two couples travelling to India. These were very different itineraries and my clients were delighted with my suggestions.
I have travelled widely in Europe taking family holidays in mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands, Portugal, Cyprus, Italy, France, Lapland, Madeira, Austria and Turkey. Some of the cities I have visited in the UK are London, Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle. I have also taken Mediterranean cruises which gave me the opportunity to visit many European cities. I have been to Thailand and spent 3 nights in Bangkok, and then travelled to Pattaya beach resort.
One of my favourite holidays was a trip to South Africa. I flew to Cape Town where I spent two nights and this gave me time to explore the city and places of interest. I then flew to Port Elizabeth and stayed in Lalibela Private Game Reserve. I undertook three safaris while staying there, and was up close to all the animals which was a wonderful experience. I then travelled back to Cape Town by the Garden route, where I visited many towns and places of interest.
I recently spent a week in Kusadasi in Turkey. The weather was beautiful and I found the people to be very friendly and helpful. While there I visited Ephesus and Pamukkale which are both historic sites.
I hope you will take the opportunity to read my travel diaries while visiting my website.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my existing clients, and look forward to your continued support. I also look forward to meeting lots of new clients and looking after your travel needs.
I wouldn't pass Sylvia Shannon when planning a trip, whether it's for a day or a month. She's reliable, resourceful and efficient. She always comes through with the best options. Sylvia won't let you down.

I found Sylvia very professional and she gave us great accommodation options to choose from. Booking was easy with her service. Her personal touch of a birthday card mean a lot to my aunt, as the holiday was for her birthday. I would recommend Sylvia with her experience and attention to providing a professional service.

My two friends and I travelled to Gran Canaria last February and Sylvia arranged everything for us. It went very smoothly, the hotel were contacted directly beforehand and all our needs were addressed. Fantastic service - will definitely book again with her.

We have been booking our family holidays wiyh Sylvia for almost 10 years. We travel with both young and old members in our family so our destinations must suit everyone, Sylvia always ensures all our requirments are met and her knowledge is excellent . We would highly recommend her, and look forward to booking many holidays in the future.

I'd consider myself fairly good at booking travel, doing it for 7 family members and company directors, but Sylvia was able to get a better price (including her fee) AND the times I wanted. We got a nice folder with the 'tickets', itinerary and luggage tags and all the other personal touches that make you feel appreciated. I know it's not, but she makes it seem easy and certainly makes my life easier!

I recently visited Crete with a group of travel agents. The history of Crete is more than 4000 years old and in fact Crete is credited with being the birthplace of modern civilisation. Crete is the largest and most southerly of the Greek islands and features many holiday resorts. It is the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean. The island is larger east to west than north to south, and boasts approximately 1040km of beaches with crystal clear waters. Direct flights operate from Dublin and Cork on a weekly basis from about mid-May to early October, and the flight time is...

I recently spent a week in Kusadasi, Turkey. I arrived to temperatures of 34°C in mid September and the temperature varied between 34° and 38° centigrade all week. I visited some amazing sites while there. One of the highlights of my week was a trip to Ephesus which is an ancient historical site. The history of this site takes in nine different eras from Neolithic age to the Turkish era. I would strongly recommend good walking shoes for anyone considering visiting this site. From Ephesus you can also visit the house of Virgin Mary. It is...

In June 2009 I travelled to Venice for a holiday. I was accompanied by my husband and my 3 year old grandson. We flew on an Aer Lingus flight to Venice and had arranged to pick up a car at the airport. The flight was a late arrival so we had booked into a hotel close to the airport for our first night. After breakfast the following day we set out to find our campsite, which was located approximately 35 miles from Venice. Having arrived on site and checked in, we were given the keys to our mobile home, and escorted...

Madeira is situated north of the Canary Islands and is governed by Portugal. Funchal is the capital, and there is a direct flight from Dublin. The flight duration is approximately 3.5-4 hours.I visited Madeira in May 2009 with a group of travel agents, and we spent a week there enjoying the sights and the wonderful hospitality. Portuguese is the main language, but English is widely spoken. Funchal is well known for its many fabulous restaurants, as well as it 4 & 5 star hotels. There are also many nice 3 star hotels, which often feature studio apartments as well...

In December 2007 I travelled to South Africa with a group of travel agents. This was a trip that I really looked forward to having done a lot of research on this area. It was always a big wish to go there and take in a safari and I must say that I was not disappointed. On arrival in Cape Town we checked into our hotel and spent 2 nights here and that gave us time to explore the city and visit many interesting places. I was lucky enough to be able to visit Robben Island where...
