Amazing Andorra

Well what a week - I don't think I have had so much fun in years. I had forgotten what it was like to travel with a group and would highly recommend it.

A quick two hour flight to Toulouse with Aer Lingus and then a stunning coach journey to Arinsal in Andorra that took just over 3.5 hours and we arrived safely to the lovely 4* St Gothard Hotel in Arinsal. Andorra is situated between France and Spain, a small independent state in the heart of the Pyrenees. Located about a mile downhill from the resort but with a free bus service outside the door or a brisk 10 minute walk it was not an issue to reach the gondola. The St Gothard is great value for money and with regular entertainment, hot and cold buffet for breakfast and dinner and sauna, whirlpool and massage all available (extra costs apply) it ticked all the boxes.

Andorra has super ski schools run by excellent english speaking instructors and in our group we had a mix of first timers for ski school and snowboarding. We also had some who had skied a few times before and no one was disappointed. Arinsal is ideal for beginners and improvers with its wide open runs. The ski conditions and weather was just fantastic - lots of happy tanned faces on the flight back home. We had 4 hours of ski school every day with another 3 hours free to ski alone or just enjoy the fab sunshine. And not to mention the fun Apres Ski including a Mexican themed evening, salsa classes, sledging at night on the slopes, quiz nights, an Asian night out and the obligatory bar crawl to acquaint ourselves with the bars and restaurants in the resort, many of which have live music once the skiing ends for the day. There was a great atmosphere everywhere it has to be said.

For some well-earned rest or retail therapy I would recommend the Spa Centre at Caldea, the largest hot spring complex in Southern Europe with thermal pools, spas, Jacuzzis, saunas and much more and then some Duty Free shopping in the town of Andorra La Vela, the perfect way to end the week.

This was must first ski trip after a 10 year break and its one holiday I won’t be overlooking next year. Get in touch today if you would like to learn more about this super fun holiday whether it’s for a group of friends, couples or even a family.
