Chania, Crete

Gail Buckley 16 September 2014
I'm a huge fan of Greece and have been to Crete before, but this was my first time to Chania. I stayed in Stalos, a few kilometres from Chania Town which is easily accessible by local bus (very cheap). The views from the Hotel were just beautiful and the area was quiet, which was just what I was looking for on this mini break.

Chania Town is big, the 2nd largest on the Island, but still retains its old Cretan charm with an abundance of craft and pottery shops throughout the narrow streets, indoor stalls and many seafront restaurants and Taverna’s. At the Old Port & Marina you can take a horse and carriage ride through the town. There are plenty of excursions to do in the area or you can take a ferry to other parts of the Island. All in all a beautiful area to visit...
